Safety policy
People and the environment are our most important assets. People’s safety is our greatest responsibility.
The BAM international safety policy is to conduct its business in such a way that the health and safety of all persons involved with its activities are safeguarded.
Our policy is put into effect through our Health, Safety, Environment and Security (HSES) system which forms part of the company’s overall Company Management System (CMS).
The system is maintained on the company’s intranet site.
Our policy is put into effect through our Health, Safety, Environment and Security (HSES) system which forms part of the company’s overall Company Management System (CMS).
The system is maintained on the company’s intranet site.
Central to our policy are the following criteria:
- zero accidents
- zero occupational ill health
- maintenance of a high level of safety awareness among all employees
- availability of HSES data to interested parties
- compliance with applicable legal requirements relating to HSES wherever the company is active
- a constant drive for continuous improvement in safety performance
- periodic review by management to ensure that the policy remains relevant to the company’s
organisation and operations
Line management accepts responsibility for the effective implementation and communication of the HSES system and the provision of the necessary resources, training, supervision and visible support to ensure a safe and healthy working environment.
Line management firmly believes that all accidents are preventable.
