Sefwi Wiawso – Benkyema junction road rehabilitation - Ghana

Printer-friendly version

Rehabilitation of 45 kilometres of road, including road widening, earth works, sub-base and crushed stone base layer with double surface dressing finishing, reflective road marking and sign posts. Also included in the project were the construction of earth drains, concrete culverts, stone pitched drains and town drainage. Across the river Sui a bridge spanning 20 metres was constructed using pre-stressed concrete girders and sheet pile abutments.

After completion, improved road conditions reduced travelling time from Sefwi-Wiawso to the Benkyema junction from about 4 hours to 35 minutes.

‘The road is now a first-class one by all standards.’
