Together with its Danish partner Per Aarsleff, BAM International has recently completed the renovation of a 150 kilometre strectch (sections 1,2,3 and 5) of the Tanzam Highway between Iyovia and Iringa. Apart from rehabilitating and strengthening the carriageway, paved shoulders and climbing lanes were being constructed to make the road safer. Other traffic safety improvement measures are being included in towns, villages and hazard spots. Ancillary works of signage, road lining and guardrails were also part of the scope of work. Currently the joint venture is working on section 4, being the stretch between Iringa and Mafenga with a length of 68 kilometres. This section is scheduled to be completed by August 2013.
