Construction of precast segmental viaducts, three jacked-boxed tunnels under the active Amtrak rail lines, seven sections of cast in place tunnels and cast in place boat sections at the intersection of I-93 and the eastern terminus of the Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90) for the Central Artery / Tunnel Project (Big Dig).

 

It was the largest construction contract ever awarded by the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority and Interbeton was awarded the National Value Engineering Award for best technical value engineering change proposal to Big Dig Contracts and was the Grand Award Winner of ACEC's 2000 Engineering Excellence Award.
