The government of Singapore decided to create a major oil and chemical platform in Singapore by linking up seven existing islands to one Jurong island. Jurong Island is situated in the southwest corner of the island of Singapore.

BAM was awarded the design and turnkey construction contract of two VLCC jetties and two 8km long 50 inch crude oil pipelines.
