Tanjung Jati jetty, Indonesia

A contract to extend the Tanjung Jati B Power Station units 5 and 6, located near Jepara, Central Java, Indonesia. BAM extended the existing power station with a 1,750-metre access trestle and a wharf of 330x27 metres for 80,000-DWT coal vessels. BAM International completed the project in 23 months for Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding (MES).

The works included the driving of steel piles, the production and installation of prefab concrete elements, including the installation of rubber fenders, access ladders, catwalks and bollards.

This was the second design and construct project for BAM International at the Tanjung Jati B Power Station; in 1998 BAM completed – four months ahead of schedule – units 1 and 2, comprising a 1,370-metre-long coal unloading jetty and a 300-metre-long limestone unloading jetty.
